The Like button is dead, long live the Like button

Facebook has today (24 Feb 2016) announced the global release of the new Reactions.

Always felt the Like button wasn’t enough? You are not alone. Although many had wanted a “Dislike” button for quite some time, Facebook decided not to go down that route but give, at least, a broader range of emotions available to express at your friends’ posts.

The move doesn’t come unexpectedly, Facebook had been testing in a few markets for some time.

So how does it work? In their words “To add a reaction, hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.”

It is still early days to see how this new move will impact the business Pages but Facebook has tried to address concerns.
